The 14th Annual Texas Country Reporter Festival Parade, including the Little Red Wagons of Texas entries

 

Saturday, 10:00 a.m., October 24, 2009

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

        Safety will be of utmost concern to parade officials and law enforcement!

 

  • THE PARADE COMMITTEE HAS THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY ENTRY THAT, IN THEIR OPINION, IS NOT APPROPRIATE!

 

  • Marching members must be 10 years of age or older to march in the parade.  Younger members will be required to ride on or in a vehicle, float or wagon.  Riding members must remain on the open vehicle at all times once the parade has started.

 

  • Specialty or promotional items, including candy, flags, and magnets ARE NOT allowed to be thrown from any vehicle or float.  Please advise members of your float this is not permitted by the City.  Items can, however, be handed out! 

 

  • All churches, civic groups, scout troops/packs, schools, individuals, etc. are invited to participate.  Due to the nature of the parade, there will be no room for equestrian entries.

 

  • The parade will start at 10:00 a.m.  Line up at the Optimist Club, 219 Patrick St.( no pre-line up, 1st come, 1st in line, or at the discretion of the Parade Committee).   The parade will proceed south on Patrick St., left (east) on Main Street (U.S. Hwy. 287 Bus.), ending at the Courthouse. 

 

  • ONLY the Little Red Wagons of Texas entries will be judged the morning of the event. The staging area for the Little Red Wagon entries will be the Sims Library parking lot. (PLEASE SEE ENTRY FORM ATTACHED)

Rules and Safety Regulations:

 

·          Standard four (4) wheel Wagons only

·          Wagons should be no larger than 48 inches long and 28 inches wide, including all decorations, but not including the pull handle

·          All decorations must be attached securely for the parade

·          Wagon must be hand-pulled by a single person-Children may have adult assistance

·          1st, 2nd & 3rd place ribbons will be awarded

 

ALL DECORATED WAGONS MAY BE PLACED ON DISPLAY ON THE COURTHOUSE LAWN AFTER THE PARADE!
